Residential surveys and homebuyer reports

The Building Survey, which is our most detailed report, is suitable for all property types.

We carry out a thorough and detailed survey of the property and prepare a comprehensive report, written in plain English, illustrated using photographs if necessary and containing a reinstatement cost assessment (insurance valuation).

If requested, we would telephone you with an initial verbal report outlining our survey findings. This will be followed up by the written report which we aim to send within 48 hours.

An alternative to the building survey report is the less detailed RICS Homebuyer Report. This is suitable for most properties, dating from the 1920’s to the present day.

Homebuyer Reports are written in a set format laid down by our governing body, The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, using mainly standard phraseology.

Minor defects are not usually reported.

The Homebuyer Report also includes a valuation and an insurance reinstatement cost assessment.
